Nicolaides & Associates provides consulting services that relate to air quality through in-house 3D dispersion models. It is regularly required by the competent authorities that an air dispersion model study is carried out for a broad range of projects, such as livestock units, industrial developments, factories, highways, internal combustion equipment, and similar. The dispersion study is mainly carried out to examine any possible impacts that a development may have on the air quality of the projected area. Our experienced experts are equipped with appropriate technical knowledge to develop 3D models and assess the impacts of hazardous pollutants or odours.
The air quality dispersion study is mainly composed of:
• Carry out 3D dispersion simulations of pollutants and odours through softwares approved by the Authorities and recognised by the International, Cypriot and European Departments. The main input of the model are environmental and morphological characteristics of the area such as topography and elevation contours, local wind data, meteorological data, etc.
• Provide detailed presentation of the results of simulations. The results are usually provided in the form of diagrams and coloured contours that show the intensity of the odour and concentration of the pollutant.
• Provide a professional and technical discussion on the results and compare them with the limitations as specified by the relevant policies and regulations.
